Title: Shallow Grave Director: Danny Boyle Format: VHS and DVD Price: $21.23 DVD, $13.99 VHS and £8.99 UK CD Recommended By: Kathryn of kathryn's x-files website Reason: This film I've found to be one of the best I've ever seen. It's the debut of Danny Boyle (director of "Trainspotting" and "The Beach") and concerns three flatmates (one of them played by Ewan McGregor) looking for someone else to share their apartment. When they've found that flatmate, who promptly dies in his room and leaves a suitcase full of money beside him, they face a dilemma which will ultimately ruin their friendship. A very funny black comedy/thriller with an unguessable twist to top it all off, truly one of the best (modern) British films ever made. What else can I say? :) Also available at Amazon.co.uk.

Title: Parklife Artist: Blur Format: CD only Price: $14.49 US £11.99 UK Recommended By: GertieBeth of The X-Files Screen Grab Archive Reason: In the early to mid 80's I was heavily into the UK New Wave music movement. I had exhausted my musical resources when the trend died, but a wonderful group called Blur revived the movement for me with their 1994 CD Parklife. You'd swear it was straight out of 1982.
